Allison Kraus Tickets - The Grammy Award Winning Songs of Allison Kraus
by Brent Warnken
Allison Kraus won her first Grammy Award in 1995 for the song "Baby, Now That I've Found You," her award was for Best Female Country Vocal Performance. Little did she know at the time, but this song was the start of trend for the talented 24 year old. The song starts out with the lyrics "Baby, now that I've found you/I won't let you go/I built my world around you/ I need you so/Baby even though/ You don't need me now." The song, which is heart breakingly about loving someone and not wanting to let them go, became one of the favorite songs of the year and one of the most easily recognized from 1990. That same year she also won the Grammy for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for "Somewhere in the Vicinity of My Heart."
In 1996 her winning song was "High Lonesome Sound" which, once again, won her the award for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals alongside Vince Gill. She went on from there to, once again, win two awards in the same year in 1997. The songs were "Little Liza Jane" winning Best Country Instrumental Performance and "Looking in the Eyes of Love" winning Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. She also won Best Bluegrass Album that year fro So Long So Wrong.
1998's winning song for Krauss was "Same Old Train," once again winning Country Collaboration. Then in 2001 She won three more Grammys for Best Bluegrass Album for New Favorite, Album of the Year for O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for the song "The Lucky One." "The Lucky One" opened yet another decade of Grammy Awards for this talented woman.
In 2002 she won Best Contemporary Folk Album for This Side. This was followed up by three awards in 2003 for the songs "Cluck Old Hen" and "How's the World Treating You" as well as the Bluegrass album Live. "How's the World Treating You" opens with "I've had nothing but sorrow/Since you said we were through/There's no hope for tomorrow/How's the world treating you?" the song was sung with artists James Taylor, and beautifully melded old-style country and contemporary life with the theme of the breakup.
In 2005 Krauss won a further three awards with the album Lonely Runs Both Ways winning Best Country Album. "Restless" and "Unionhouse Branch" winning Best Country Performance by A Duo or Group with Vocal and Best Country Instrumental Performance, respectively. Her most recent win is the song "Gone Gone Gone (Done Moved On)" from 2007, which won Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals. This song marked her first Pop award and with another two years since that award are now almost up, we wonder what Allison Kraus tickets will bring this year. With so many Grammy Awards behind her and the end of the decade just around the corner, her tickets might be hard to find. So be sure to look around online for more of your tickets to see this incredible artist in concert.
