Amy Winehouse Tickets - Glamour Destination Isn't the US
by Brent Warnken
Though it may have been expected but not quite confirmed it until recently, Amy Winehouse will not be attending the Coachella performance this year in Indio, California, like she was slated for late last year. The British pop star who has been dealing with personal problems galore throughout the last year is currently undergoing "legal issues," according to a spokesman for the star, and is unable to attend the April event. The real situation, however, isn't regarding such legal issues that require her full attention at home, but rather the fact that the US Government is prohibiting her from traveling into the States.
The Grammy Award winner, who was initially denied a working visa to attend the 2008 Grammy Awards where she picked up five statues via satellite, now can't attend the hippie fest in the middle of California. According to the UK's Times, the star assaulted a fan during London's End of Summer Ball in September and must now face the consequences of such actions - getting removed from a spot on Coachella's festival this year, which would have seen her perform along with Paul McCartney and The Killers, will just have to wait another year.
Though the star has been more infamous for her rehab attempts and arrests, Amy Winehouse tickets will always remain popular and available online, as the Back to Black singer actually has talent. The singer is due back in court March 17th in regards to the attack, which quickly promoted the typically stringent American authorities to ban the star from attending her April 18 performance. Reuters first broke the story March 9th, and now others are shocked with the response and Coachella's failing Saturday - as Winehouse, even with such legal trouble, remained Saturday's top performer. The first performance in the US in what would have been three years, Winehouse fans might just get more lucky following around UK's The Mirror, whom she reportedly talked to in her first interview since her Caribbean vacation, revealing that she's been writing poetry, noting that "it calms me down; making me feel happy."
This assault situation isn't the only thing the "Rehab" singer is currently dealing with, as she tackles a divorce from her jailbird husband of two years, Blake Fielder-Civil. The Londoner, recently released from his assault sentence, revealed his desire to dissolve the adulterous marriage as soon as possible. "I can confirm that I have been instructed to commence divorce proceedings on the grounds of Amy's adultery," Henri Brandman, who is representing Fielder-Civil, said in a statement. The two, who were married in May in 2007, have been under turmoil since their nuptials in regards to Winehouse's drug addiction and Fielder-Civil's perversion.
Though even with all the battles the soul singer is facing, dates with Amy Winehouse's name on them are still being dropped. According to Island Records, the international star will be headlining a series of concerts to celebrate the record label's 50th birthday. The event will see Winehouse performing in London's Shepherd Bush Empire along with Tom Tom Club, Paul Weller and Yusuf Islam, as the first and only performance she is slated in this year. Happening in May, the event will hopefully coincide with her divorce and finalized assault charges.
